Why are you standing,
swaying, Slender rowan,
Bending your head
Right down to the fence?
While over the road
Beyond the wide river
Just as alone
Stands a tall oak.
"What if I, the rowan
Could move over to the oak,
Then I would not be
Bowing and swaying.
With slender branches
I would embrace him
And with his leaves
Whisper day and night".
But the rowan cannot
Move over to the oak,
It seems her fate is this
To sway alone for life.
First time I saw one in the distance I actually mistook it for the head of a bird
normally you see these in purple, I'm not even sure I identified them correctly but there are some pictures of them in white online
the tension between me and putting this in my hair, but i respected nature in the end
in dutch this is called 'papegaaiplant' literally 'parrot plant', i have no idea why
